Rain is likely to disrupt the second ODI between India and New Zealand at Hnry Stadium in Wellington on Saturday, November 7, according to AccuWeather. The match is scheduled to start at 3pm local time, which is 7:30am IST, so Indian fans get a early-morning start to the day.
The forecast gives a 25 percent chance of rain in the morning, rising to 63 percent in the afternoon. The evening and night each carry a 55 percent chance. Cloud cover is expected to stay between 86 and 99 percent through the day, with humidity reaching as high as 87 percent in the evening.
The weather already forced changes on Friday. Persistent rain led New Zealand to move their practice session indoors to Wellington College, while India cancelled their training altogether.
Rain also featured in the series opener in Auckland on November 4. The start was delayed by 10 minutes, and two interruptions led to India's target being revised from 186 in 50 overs to 143 in 32 overs. India won by five wickets under the DLS method, with Virat Kohli making 74 off 51 balls.
For fans, the practical takeaway is that a full 50-over contest is far from guaranteed. Shortened games tend to reward sides that adapt quickly, and DLS targets can shift the balance of a chase. Cloudy, humid conditions could also help the bowlers if play does get under way. A completed game or a washout will shape how the rest of the series unfolds, with India holding the early advantage.
