Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce has teamed up with breakfast brand Kodiak to provide 25,000 meals for children at Operation Breakthrough, a Kansas City nonprofit that serves families in need.

The organisation supports more than 700 children every day. To mark the donation, staff served a special pancake breakfast with designs inspired by the Chiefs and by Operation Breakthrough itself.

The timing carries weight. The nonprofit is mourning co-founder Sister Berta, who started the organisation in 1971 with her close friend Sister Corita. What began as care for a few children in a home has grown into a daily lifeline for hundreds.

Her daughter, Vanshay Purnell, said she still feels her mother's presence in the building and often asks herself what the two founders would do. She said they always wanted to grow the work for more kids and families, and that she believes they are doing so.

Entrepreneurship educator Shirl Nichols framed the gesture as a lesson in success, saying giving back should remain the first priority no matter how big someone becomes.

For Indian readers used to seeing cricketers and film stars back causes, the story is a familiar one. Celebrity-backed corporate partnerships can turn a one-off donation into attention for a charity's year-round work, even if no single gift solves every challenge families face.
